How The KVAR PFC Unit works
The KVAR PFC Unit increases power factor, by reducing the amount of reactive power (kVAR) that the load draws from the utility company. KVAR PFC Units store the reactive power (kVAR) needed for the creation of the EMF within the inductive load. As the motor operates, this reactive power is “pulled” and “pushed” to and from the KVAR PFC Unit by the motor. The amount of reactive power purchased from the utility company by power factor optimization has been greatly reduced, or eliminated.

The technology applied by the KVAR PFC Unit reclaims, stores and supplies power to inductive motors and loads. This process provides the reactive power (kVAR) required to establish the electromagnetic field (EMF) around the inductive windings of a motor, while reclaiming and recycling the power during the normal working phase. The power reclaimed and recycled by the KVAR PFC Unit would normally be pushed back through the power distribution lines.

A light-emitting-diode lamp is a solid-state lamp that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) as the source of light. The term “LED lightbulb” is also colloquially used. “LED lamp” may in general refer to organic light-emitting diodes (OLED), or polymer light-emitting diodes (PLED) technologies as well as conventional semiconductor light-emitting diodes; although the OLED and PLED technologies are not yet commercially available.
Since traditionally the light output of individual light-emitting diodes is small compared to incandescent and compact fluorescent lamps, multiple diodes were and are often used together. In recent years, as “diode” technology has improved, now “high power” light-emitting diodes with higher lumen output are making it possible to replace A19, MR16, PAR, and other incandescent, halogen, and even fluorescent lamps with LED lamps. In other words LEDs can be made interchangeable or retrofitted with other types of traditional lamps. Diodes use direct current (DC) electrical power, so LED lamps must also include internal circuits to operate from standard AC voltage. LEDs are damaged by being run at elevated temperatures, therefore LED lamps typically include heat management elements such as heat sinks and cooling fins. LED lamps offer long service life and high energy efficiency, but initial costs are higher than those of fluorescent lamps.
Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL)
A compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), also known as a compact fluorescent light or energy saving light (or less commonly as a compact fluorescent tube), is a type of fluorescent lamp. Many CFLs are designed to replace an incandescent lamp and can fit into most existing light fixtures formerly used for incandescents.
Compared to general service incandescent lamps giving the same amount of visible light, CFLs use less power and have a longer rated life. In the United States, a CFL has a higher purchase price than an incandescent lamp, but can save over US$30 in electricity costs over the lamp’s life time. Like all fluorescent lamps, CFLs contain mercury, which complicates their disposal.
CFLs radiate a different light spectrum from that of incandescent lamps. Improved phosphor formulations have improved the subjective color of the light emitted by CFLs such that some sources rate the best ‘soft white’ CFLs as subjectively similar in color to standard incandescent lamps.
